Scope of Work
Engineering, modification and delivery of installation to operate three (3) hydraulic traction winches from one (1) central control desk and also stand alone.

Time of Delivery
The project plan was that it would take only six (6) weeks from the date the contract was awarded until the acceptance test by the client, Statoil Norway.

Special Features
The winches are to be operated in a synchronized mode; i.e. one or two traction winches in combination with a master traction winch.

The synchronization control included both length and pressure synchronization.

In length synchronization mode the difference between the master and any of the slaves is to be controlled within an error band of a few centimeters. An alarm indication is given when the difference exceeds ą 5 cm.
The speed of the master can be continuously controlled. The total length of the wire that can be spooled in synchronous is 6750 m in case of a 58 mm wire.

The pressure setting of the master can be continuously controlled. The pressure transducer shows the tension in the wire.
The sensor has a maximum range of 250 bars which corresponds to a tension of 240 tonnes (if the motors are adjusted to minimum displacement).
