GENERAL INFORMATION

The winch(es), run intermittently, and pull or pay out rope, are comprised of a steel frame designed to withstand the rated load with an adequate safety factor, and by two rope grips, one of which is an integral part of the frame and the other is guided by special runners and moved by two hydraulical cylinders.

The hydraulic power unit is installed in a sound-proofed container, and is equipped with a 300 HP diesel, two main and two auxiliary pumps, a hydraulic oil radiator, oil and fuel tanks, filters etc.

The control console is located on the side of the container. This console is comprised of one fixed and one portable part for remote control of the system. The remote control console is connected to the main console by an "umbillical cord".

The power unit is also equipped with an automatic system for reading and correcting the movements of the grips in real time so as to keep the winches synchronized. The hydraulic and electric connections with the winches are made using flexible hoses.
